2025 North American & International Black Belt Conference was organized by Shihan Stuart Corrigalfrom October 3rd to 5th in the Canadian Rocky Mountain, Banff. Guest instructors representing the IKO Honbu included Kancho Shokei Matsui and Shihan Katsuhito Gorai. As well several international IKO Branch Chiefs were in attendance. The 125 participants included IKO members from Costa Rica, Germany, Japan, Korea, Romania, USA and both Western/Central Canada. Highlight of the weekend was the one hour hike up Tunnel Mountain for outdoor training. Six training sessions were led by Kancho Matsui and all participants enjoyed his insight into karate. Q & A session was also held and Kancho explained his experiences with Sosai Oyama. Training featured Kihon, Ido Kihon and Kumite. The last session of the camp ended with a Dan examination.
