30th A1.jpgThe 30th anniversary reception party for Kancho Matsui was held in Tokyo on October 24th with approximately 1,000 guests. Kancho Matusi was appointed to be a successor to IKO KYOKUSHINKAIKNAN founder Sosai Masutatsu Oyama in 1994.

The party started with Kagami Biraki Ceremony (by opening the lid of sake barrels with wooden mallets, people pray for health and happiness) by Kancho and party founders. World renown creative director, Mr. Sato Kashiwa (IKO KYOKUSHINKAIKAN'S  branding advisor), sent a video message and a special video of Kancho's 30 year presidency was shown. Kancho Matsui led a Kyokushin demonstration with IKO Honbu instructors.

At the closing remarks, Kancho Matsui stated, "I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all who have continued to support me for the last 30 years. Year 2024 heralds two significant milestones for the IKO KYOKUSHINKAIKAN, as we observe the 30th Memorial of Sosai Oyama's passing, and commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the IKO KYOKUSHINKAIKAN. Since I succeeded this organization, we have kept the original organization name 'International Karate Organization KYOKUSHINKAIKAN',  have kept our head quarter's location at its sacred birth place 'Ikebukuro, Tokyo', and have continuously organized activities and events such as World Open Karate Championship. Based on our philosophy "Keep your head low, eyes high, reserved in speech, be kind in heart and base yourself on filial piety and benefit others", we will pursue our ideal karate practice 'basics ought to be grounded yet adaptable, kata should be realistic with purpose, and fighting should be gracious with beauty', and will try to be one and only Budo organization beneficial to society. We look forward to working together as one, to further develop the IKO KYOKUSHINKAIKAN towards the future, as we bring up the next generation, that will lead us to our 50th and 100th Anniversary!"

Congratulations!
