The 36th European Weight Category Karate Championships was held on May 20 and 21 in Wroclaw, Poland, organized by Poland Branch Chief Shihan Agnieszka Sypien, under the leadership of Shihan Katsuhito Gorai. The championships was attended by 740 competitors, 27 countries from 10 years old junior to senior members. Men's kumite category was the selection event for the 13th World Open Karate Championship which will take place on November 17 to 19, 2023 in Tokyo.
