On January 1, 2023, IKO Kyokushinkaikan Hungary Branch Chief, Shihan Karoly Halasz passed away; he was 63 years old.

Shihan Halasz joined the IKO Kyokushinkaikan in the late 1970's, was a member of the Hungary National Team, and a director of Hungary Women's National Team to develop women's world champions in the 1990's. For more than 40years, Shihan Halasz devoted his entire life to the Kyokushinkaikan and built a strong foundation of IKO Hungary Dojos stemmed from his formidable Budapest Branch.

Kancho Shokei Matsui and the entire IKO Kyokushinkaikan, send our sincere condolences to Shihan Halasz' family, to his many friends, and his dedicated students. Shihan Halasz' strength, warmth and vivacity will be remembered fondly by everyone whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace.
