36th Annual Canadian Kyokushin Karate Summer Camp

Main.jpg

The 36th annual Canadian Summer Training Camp was held from July 30 to August 2, after nearly two years with no group training due to the pandemic. The camp was limited to 50 participating members with many COVID restrictions still in place. In addition, there were many wildfires in the area which caused heavy smoke conditions during training. All the factors considered, the 4 day camp was a welcome return to training for everyone. The camp schedule featured Kihon basics, Ido Geiko, Goshin Jitsu, Kumite strategies & timing, Tameshiwari, Kata and Kyokushin history. Eight members were promoted through the various dan grades and a team of six seniors members assisted throughout the events with the instructional duties.
