Traditional Russian Winter Camp was organized by IKO Russia Branch Chief Shihan Alexander Ipatov from January 10th to 15th near Moscow. Approximately 400 participants including instructors and leading fighters from different regions of Russia participated. Shihan Artur Hovhannisyan, Sensei Shohei Kamada and the 12th World Open champion Sensei Mikio Ueda were guest instructors from IKO Honbu. Shihan Artur covered all aspects of technique from Kihon to Kata with the most recent changes. Sensei Kamada and Sensei Ueda showed their Kumite technique. Shihan Hovhannisyan and Shihan Andrey Kuznetsov conducted a judge seminar that consisted of two parts - theoretical and practical. Press-conference was held during the camp, interviewing World Open top finalists including Sensei Ueda, Sensei Kamada, Aleksandr Eremenko (2nd place of the 12th World Open), Konstantin Kovalenko, and Igor Zagainov. On the last day of the Camp a 6.5 hour-long Dan and Kyu test was held in which 75 people participated. Osu!
