Sosai Oyama's 25th memorial service and International Camp in Mt. Mitsumine

IKO Kyokushinkaikan founder Sosai Masutatsu Oyama's 25th memorial service was held at the Mt.Mitsumine Shrine in the Saitama Pref. on Monday, April 22, the day after the 2019 International Karate Friendship and 36th All Japan Weight Category Championships. Approximately 120 members took part in this memorial service which included IKO President Kancho Shokei Matsui, Shihan Yuzo Goda, Shihan Seiji Isobe, Shihan Kenny Uytenbogaardt, Shihan Masatoshi Yamada, Shihan Katsuhito Gorai, Shihan Francisco Filho, Current All Japan champion Mikio Ueda, IKO officials, Branch Chiefs from all over Japan and overseas, fighters who participated in the IFT, 36th AJWC, International Training Camp participants and headquarter staff. The memorial service started with a Shinto style prayer, then moved to the " Oreisha" where Sosai Oyama's spirit rest and was completed by paying respect to Sosai's Monument. International camp participants stayed at Mt.Mitsumine and started the camp with Kancho's session. Kancho's training went over all aspects of Kyokushin karate including basic standing positions, proper posture and etiquette. Next morning Shihan Filho conducted the early morning outdoor training covering basic, ido, kata and conditioning like wheelbarrow exercise on mountain steps, from 6 to 7:30am. After checking out the accommodations, participants climbed down steep mountain hill to finish the camp with Kyokushin traditional Water Fall Training. Osu!
