The 1st All Japan Semi-Contact Karate competitions were held at the Osaka Furitsu Taiikukan in Osaka on June 3rd, 2018. It was the first semi-contact competition, supplimenting IKO's main full contact system with techniques such as non-contact face strikes. Competitors wore protective gears such as face guards for safety and enjoyed the new endeavor. 217 fighter participated among 34 categories from children to seniors. In the Men's heavyweight division (+80kg) Marious Stefanou from Greece who is training at Honbu came in 1st place.
