The 15th IKO European Open Karate Championships and IKO European Kyokushin Karate Cup were held at Lublin, Poland on November 26th and 27th, 2016, organized by IKO Poland Branch Chief Shihan Jacek Czerniec. These events drew nearly 600 competitors from 23 countries. They were overseen by IKO President, Kancho Shokei Matsui and International Department Director, Shihan Katsuhito Gorai and attended by special guest representatives of Lublin City, as well as the Polish Sports Minister. Kancho Matsui conducted an IKO Training Seminar in the morning of the championship's final day for all participants. The next IKO European Championships will be held in Lyon France on May 20 and 21, 2017.
