
IKO Kyokushinkaikan International Training Camp and Dan examination was held from April 18 to 19 at Mt. Mitsumine, Japan. IKO President Kancho Matsui, with IKO senior advisors & representatives, led the training sessions, which surrounded the annual Memorial Ceremony held at Sosai Mas Oyama's tombstone on the top of the mountain. Approximately 60 participants from around the world, who traveled to Tokyo for the International Karate Friendship tournaments, participated in the ceremony and training sessions, which concluded with a hike down the mountain and iconic training under the waterfall. Following the Mitsumine Camp, the IKO Intensive Training Course was held at Daikanyama Honbu Dojo in Tokyo, where high ranking Instructors from around the world gathered to standardize fluency in the Kyokushin curriculum, which included covering kihon, ido geiko, kata, kumite, Hapo-no-kuzushi and the practical application of sweeping techniques.
