Seiken Open International Karate Cup and Cup of Russia were organized in Moscow, Russia from February 20 to 22, 2016. Over 525 youth and junior competitors from 8 countries, including Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Serbia took part in Seiken Cup, organized by IKO Russian Branch Chief Sensei Karen Gyadukyan. At the last day of the 3-day-event, Cup of Russia for men, women, and kata was organized by IKO Russian Branch Chief Shihan Alexander Ipatov. Those events were overseen by IKO Honbu representatives, Shihan Katsuhito Gorai and Shihan Artur Hovhannisiyan. World Champion Tariel Nikoleishvili and Shihan Gorai conducted a training seminar mainly for youth members. On February 23, Shihan Gorai and Shihan Hovhannisiyan personally visited the Moscow Dojos of Sensei Maxim Dedik, Oleksandr Ieromenk, and Sensei Karen Gyadukyan.
