The 3rd Open Cup "Grand Prix Mercedes" was held in Chisinau, Moldova on October 4th organized by IKO Moldovan Branch Chief Sensei Traian Velixar. 176 fighters from 5 countries (Ukraine, Russia, Belorussia, Romania and Moldova) took part in the tournament. The level of participators is growing, as well as the quality of the organizers. This year the organizers have tried to take in attention all recommendations given by Shihan Katsuhito Gorai, who was present at this tournament last year as a guest. The tournament was for all age groups from juniors to adults and there was also a special match between Nicolae Stoian, Romania and Olexandr Ieromenko, Ukraine. Ieromenko won in second round. In the team competition Ukraine came first, Romania second and Moldova third, according to number of trophies they attained.
