The IKO Russian Summer Camp was organized at Sochi, Russia from June 28th to July 3rd, by Russian Branch Chief Shihan Victor Belov. Over 800 Russian members participated at the camp, held at the site of the recent global Winter Olympic Games. International Committee members, Shihan Kenny Uytenboggardt from Cape Town, South Africa, Shihan Katsuhito Gorai from New York, USA and Canadian Branch Chief Shihan Stuart Corrigal from Vancouver, were guest instructors leading this enormous camp.
Morning sessions were conducted on the pebble-covered beach on the Black Sea. All 800 participants gathered and made huge kiai toward the rising sun. In the afternoon session, the 800 students were divided into three groups, according to their rank, to cover specific topics based on their level.
The weekend was a great success, and easily one of the largest IKO Kyokushinkaikan summer camps ever held.
