Winter school in Ukraine

MainA.jpg The 8th Winter School of Ukrainian Kyokushin karate was held from January 10th to 12th, 2014 under the guidance of Shihan Sergei Vsevolodov. A record 208 members participated from Ukraine and Moldova. In the 3 days there were 4 training sessions. The main focus of the camp was to repeat and correct the Bassai-dai, Tekki sono ichi and Tekki sono ni kata and also work in details the Yantsu and Seinchin kata such as execution, rhythm and bunkai.
In basics the focus was Mae-Geri. All training was associated with the skills of the mae-geri: ippon-kumite, protection, counterattack, kumite and methods of training mae-geri.
The children trained the technique and execution of hand blocks, various punches (haito, shuto, koken, hiji), combination of punches and movements in various stances.
There was a Kyu Test on the last day with 154 people participating. Amongst the participants 91 were taking the test for the first time.
