On January 10th, 2014, 7th World Tournament Champion Francisco Filho's mother passed away at the age of 72. Shihan Filho rushed home on January 8th after attending the Honbu Winter Camp in Japan to see his mother.
The funeral was attended by over 200 people and among them was Shihan Seiji Isobe who had a good relation with Shihan Filho's family. Kancho Shokei Matsui send his words of condolences.
