2014 IKO Honbu Winter Camp



The annual winter camp of IKO Honbu was held from January 4th thru 6th at the Mt. Mitsumine Shrine in Saitama, Japan. Kancho Shokei Matsui, Shihan Yuzo Goda, Shihan Francisco Filho, Branch Chief Kentaro Tanaka who will be challenging the 100 Man Kumite this year and 130 members participated. The camp started with all participants paying respect to Sosai's monument followed by a special training conducted by Kancho Matsui and Shihan Filho. Kancho's lecture was held at night where he spoke about the direction of the IKO organization as well as the events heading into the 50th anniversary.
The second day started with early morning training and a Shinto prayer in freezing weather followed by the marathon in the afternoon and at night there were skits and an arm wrestling tournament with Shihan Filo participating at the end.
In the final day, early morning training and a Shinto prayer finished up the 3 day winter camp.
