The Open Championship of Moldova was held on February 23rd, 2013 in Chisinau, Moldova organized by Branch Chief Sensei Traian Velixar. 150 members from Chisinau, Bacioi, Telenesti, Soroca, Floresti, Ungheni and Causeni and a team from Ukraine under the leadership of Shihan Sergey Vsevolodov participated. The tournament finished in a warm friendly atmosphere although the fights were hard fought and uncompromising. Sensei Velixar was very pleased with the young fighters with good technique and mental strength, but men fighters were the brightest of all. Following the tournament the Moldova national team will be selected for the upcoming European Championship to be held in Kiev in May.
