Traditional Winter Camp in Chekhov, Russia

MainA.JPGThe traditional winter camp was held from January 16th thru 21st, 2013 at the Sports center in Chekhov near Moscow organized by Branch Chief Shihan Alexander Ipatov with Branch Chief Sensei Kentaro Tanaka participating as the guest instructor from IKO Honbu. 150 members participated the camp which also had a Kyu and Dan test.
Regional leaders with current and future instructors from all over the country came together for three days to obtain new knowledge and share their own experiences.
Training began at 6:30am every morning under the guidance of national Russian team coaches Sensei Shepelev and Sensei Kurchanin. The first day of training was basics which were led by Shihan Gerasimov and Shihan Gedz. It was very useful and methodically well-organized for quality learning.
The second day started under the leadership of IKO Honbu representative Sensei Kentaro Tanaka. Sensei Tanaka showed all his main "technics" - controlling your opponent, work in advance, strong low-kick and also the mentality of karate, when your physical abilities are not determinative.
There was a Sayonara Party and a difficult and intense Kyu and Dan test on the last day of the camp.
