The Open Weight and Junior Weight Category Championship of Ukraine was held on October 13th, 2012 in Kherson, Ukraine organized by BC Shihan Sergei Vsevolodov. The Open Weight Championship had men, women, senior and also KATA categories. The Junior fighter participated in a weight category tournament. 80 fighters from BC Shihan Sergey Vsevolodov, Shihan Stanislav Blizniuk and Sensei Victor Maksimov's branch particitapted with BC Sensei Traian Velixar from Moldova giving his support.
In the men's category Vusal Ismailov, who has returned to the sport after a year off from competition, became 1st place with his 17 year old younger brother Eldar Ismailov who also received a prize for the best techniques taking 2nd place. Igor Dotsenko came in 3rd place. Tetiana Niemtseva won the women's category and Tetiana Niemtseva and Igor Dotsenko winning the KATA.
The City of Kherson won the team competition with Poltava and Zaporozhye occupying 2nd and 3rd respectively.
