2012 Hungarian Summer Camp
- 2012-09-10

Participants trained 3 times a day. The morning session was physical training, the afternoon was Kihon, Ido and Kata and in the evening they trained Kumite combinations and self defense. There was also a special night training for an hour from three in the morning and everybody including the children participated. On August 1st was a Dan Test and the participants were tested to perform all the skills as written in IKO Technical syllabus (push up, flexibility, Stick Jump, Handstand Walking, Kihon, Ido, Kata etc.)
Shihan Wakiuchi's report:
Everyone performed better than I expected. If someone did the wrong skills, breathing techniques or rhythm I corrected it at that point. In Karate your body learns then you transform it to a useful technique. I think in Kata and in Kumite not only the skills but the breathing technique is the most important. If you have the wrong breathing technique you will get damaged even if you get a light hit and your hits won't damage your opponent as well as running out of energy. In karate first you start by knowing yourself (breathing, speed, precision, power, skills, decision making and stamina). In this years Hungarian summer camp, I felt a lot of passion as usual as well as feeling that I also must take a look at myself mentally and physically. I learned a lot from teaching students. "There is no end in training Kyokushin karate"
